About Us
As luck would have it, Ila and Madi met on an airplane travelling back home to Sarasota! When Ila took her seat next to Madi and saw she was crocheting, she pulled out her own crochet project and they immediately connected.
They talked the entire plane ride home about their various creative ideas and their shared experience hosting crafty get togethers with friends. They both wanted to expand their reach and invite women all over the Suncoast Florida area.
After many creative sessions later, their idea was born into life, Suncoast Craft and Social. Their goal is to connect other Suncoast gals together through arts and crafts while sparking new friendships and tapping into the creative energy within us all.

Ila Birchwood
Ila grew up knitting and crocheting with her grandmothers, and she’s been hooked on creating ever since. She loves making one-of-a-kind pieces stitched together with love and sharing them at local art markets. These days, Ila’s passion is bringing women together to tap into their creative side to make something beautiful.
Madi Berry
With dreams of one day becoming a fashion designer, Madi learned to sew in high school and the craft obsession only grew from there. Today she does everything from embroidery to making custom swimwear. Now, her hope is to bring these learned skills to other women and create a space where creativity can run free.
